Hebridean Crofthouses is the trading name of Hebridean Properties, a small company based in the Western Isles, Scotland, specialising in the design and building of modern energy-efficient homes with exteriors very closely based upon the classic or traditional croft houses of the West Coast of Scotland.

Run by Mark Miller Mundy, Hebridean Crofthouses will design and adapt an interior layout to suit a client’s individual requirements for their new home. In conjunction with any of a number of highly experienced island builders, they will also oversee every aspect of the build including fitting out the key elements of the interior such as kitchen and bathroom etc to suit individual tastes.

The company believes that one of the major considerations when building a new house should not just be its interior, but also on how its exterior sits within its surrounding landscape*.  While beauty is onviously in the eye of a beholder, one has only to look at some of the modern designs that have been built on the West Coast of Scotland over the last decade or so to see that their designers have been more interested in the inside of these buildings without considering how they might look from the outside.

The classic designs being utilised by Hebridean Crofthouses offer not only all the conveniences we have come to expect from a modern home, but their traditional Scottish exteriors ensure that the finished buildings blends seemlessly within the spectacular landscapes found in the West Coast of Scotland. 

All building work is carried out to a very high standard by quaified personnel. If for any reason, a client finds it difficult to make site visits, Hebridean Crofthouses is happy to supply them with a list of independent surveyors whose role would be to regularly monitor work in progress on their behalf. 

* This is especially true when a home is also to be used for self-catering holiday-lets.
